RehaBuddy

PT exercises aren’t hard. They’re boring.

RehaBuddy asks once a day whether the exercises happened. You add them from the PT’s sheet. There’s no exercise library, on purpose.

A small 3D plant with its first flowers, growing in a mound of soil

Your plant grew today.

Day 1: easy. Day 14: the problem.

That’s how exercises at home tend to go. Nobody quits on purpose. One evening gets skipped. Then another.

RehaBuddy is for day 14.

This app has zero exercises in it. On purpose.

No library, no videos, no programs. The plan comes from the PT. RehaBuddy only keeps track of whether it happens.

Questions

Does RehaBuddy come with exercises?

No, and that’s on purpose. You add the exercises from the PT’s sheet. RehaBuddy reminds you once a day and keeps track of the days they happened.

Does it replace physical therapy?

No. RehaBuddy doesn’t diagnose, prescribe or change anything about the plan. It helps with the part between appointments: actually doing the exercises. Questions about pain or load belong with the PT.

What does it cost?

RehaBuddy is a paid app. The monthly plan starts with 7 free days and can be cancelled anytime. Or pay once and keep it. Both include every feature, and there are no ads. The App Store or Google Play shows the price for your country before you pay.

Do I need an account? Where is my data?

No account. Your exercise data is stored encrypted on your device. If you invite a buddy, they only see which of the last 7 days you exercised, and your streak. The details are in the privacy policy.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, and Android phones.

Where does the idea come from?

RehaBuddy started as a master’s thesis at the University of Twente about why home exercise programs are so hard to keep up.
